Three Day Wedding Cake Masterclass £395

Over three days you will learn all the basics of making, construction and decorating a contemporary wedding cake. All skills can be transposed and used onto any cake. 

You will have the choice of presenting and finishing your wedding cake in one of several different styles:  flower cascade, flowers on each tier; or flowers around a separator.

Colour choice will be yours throughout and final piped designs will also be up to you.

I try to encourage students in this class to have a go at designing a cake they will be pleased with, while at the same time including all the elements and skills learnt during the time. I will of course be on hand to discuss all the options and to help guide where required.

Day One:

Cover two tiers with sugarpaste

Covering boards 

Royal icing piping basics - Learn how to pipe pearls, pressure piped flowers and leaves, drop lines 

Brush embroidery 

Spacing for piped pearls 

Pattern transfer for inticate free design royal icing for any design - match lace dress patterns for your bride 

Other pattern transfer techniques

Day Two:

Cover your third tier with sugarpaste and using your royal icing template 

Wired sugar flowers - learn how to use wires, stamen and tape 

Roses - including open and buds 

Peony and buds 

Hydrangea Sweet pea  

Day Three:

Finish flowers 

Royal icing piping work onto cakes 

Dowelling and stacking cakes 

Flower arrangements 

Ribboning cakes and boards

Please note dummy cakes are used in this class.

All materials, ingredients and tools will be provided along with class notes.

This is a fun class with a maximum number of 3 students, you can book as a group of friends or come on your own and share your love of baking with a like-minded group.
