Why should I choose The Cupcake Oven?

I have a proven record and a long list of 100’s of happy students, who keep returning time after time. You will learn, and I can help you achieve your dream: making your child’s birthday cake, starting your own business, or gaining more skills and confidence to run your existing business how you want. I can help you get to where you want to be.

How can your classes help me?

I am a firm believer, that with the right guidance and support, you can achieve anything if you want to. I will help you achieve your baking, cake decorating and sugarcraft goals, whether that is to improve your techniques, gain more skills or to further develop your business. I will be there to support you all the way, saving time and money, and avoiding making too many frustrating mistakes.

How can you improve my cake and sugarcraft artistry and baking skills?

With my calm patience and understanding (we all start somewhere, including me!), no matter what level you feel you are at, you will learn new skills and tips to improve your end result.

Why should I book one of your sugarcraft or baking classes?

You’ll find The Cupcake Oven on Instagram and Facebook, with frequent live demonstrations on my own, and other Facebook pages, as well as sugarcraft clubs and guilds. Take a look and see for yourself what sort of person I am and how I teach. These give you some idea of what to expect at a longer class – with more cups of tea and a cupcake thrown in!

I am nervous in class situations, and with people I don’t know; how will I feel?

I’ve been told I instantly put students at ease. I really am a “people person”. I love meeting new friends (which is how you feel after just one class!), and I love sharing my cake decorating and baking skills. I will do everything to ensure you have a comfortable, enjoyable day. If you’re unsure, please give me a ring to chat and ask questions. I am very accommodating.

Can I book a private class ?

To book a private group or 1-2-1 class; or to enquire about more dates for any class, please contact us

1-2-1 classes start at £200 (depending on the class); or £300 for bespoke tuition.

What's included in the price ?

Refreshments which includes some of our delicious cupcakes or bakes
All equipment, materials and ingredients used; use of apron and tools for each person
Certificate of Completion for your portfolio

What time are your classes ?

Weekday classes start at 10am - finishing times may vary

Weekend classes start at 10.30am - finishing times may vary

Where are your classes held ?

All classes take place in Lawford, Manningtree, Essex in my spacious, airy kitchen classroom.

Located on the main line from London Liverpool Street by rail (less than 1 hour), and a short 10 minute walk from the station. Also less than 1 hour from London Stansted Airport. There is plenty of free private parking for those travelling by car.

What happens after the class has finished?

You will have me for ongoing support! I don’t close the door behind you and forget about you. Questions on what we’ve covered, refreshers (it’s a lot to take in), troubleshooting: My support won’t stop when you leave my kitchen – that I promise!

What do I take home ?

A selection of recipe sheets in a pack with course notes
Your beautifully decorated and yummy cupcakes, cakes and bakes!
Confidence to bake delicious cupcakes, cakes and bakes from scratch; or use your master sugarcraft skills
Confidence to decorate your own cupcakes, cakes and bakes professionally
Certification of Completion

What about payment ?

Classes cost from £85 per person, payment online is via PayPal. No account is needed and you can pay by card. If you would rather pay by bank transfer or by cheque, please get in touch and I can give you details.

Booking are confirmed once payment has been received.

Class dates with less than two bookings may be subject to change or cancellation. There may be a minimum attendance for weekend classes.

Cancellations

Due to the popularity of our classes, no refunds will be given for cancellations or "no shows". Please carefully check the date you are booking before you decide to go ahead. Once booked, a date will not be rescheduled. In the unlikely event that we cancel a class, an offer to reschedule will be made or a full refund given.
